Godzilla Vs. Boredom
May 22nd, 2008So, at work the other day, one of our servers went down. The one that I need to do any sort of work-related thing at all. So there was nothing I could do, and a lot of us were just goofing off, surfing the web, or using the time to better ourselves through gaining knowledge and wisdom. I chose the web-surfing one.
All of a sudden, I see a hand fly up - the guy next to me slaps up a post-it on the glass along the top edge of the wall dividing our cubes. The post-it had a crudely drawn tank, and said merely, “Add to picture.”
What happened next was genius - the most impromptu and possibly fulfilling comic project I’ve ever been involved in. We kept trading off making the next panel on post-it’s. After a while we had this: (the 2nd pic is me, and it alternates from there)
Some special touches that are hard to see on this small scan are the “bouquet” of dead people in panel 6, and the last panel is a little too cramped - its hard to see the broken heart thought bubble, and the missle that gets launched at our (anti)hero. There is a higher-res version on my deviantart page, if you’re interested.
Man, this was fun, and a great way to make work go faster. If only servers went down more often…

This is genius and a half.

I humbly bow before your compliment…
The real question is: which one of us is the genius, and which one of us is half a genius? Or are both of us 3/4 of a genius?
I’ll give him credit, since he came up with whole thing

Nope, especially not when I tell you we started a SECOND post-it comic today. This time, it’s about bees.
You know, from nature?
