Facebook Your Face Off!

Saturday, May 10th, 2008

Hey everybody, finally I had a Saturday where I wasn’t totally busy all day long, so I thought to myself, “time to play Warcraft,” and then I came to senses and realized that Warcraft is a big waste of my time (although it’s a fun one).

So then I said, “why not do something cool for my readers?”

Then my roommate leaned in and said, “will you stop talking to yourself, it’s creeping me out! …again!”

After a brief slow-motion fight with my roommate, I decided that it was time to make a Facebook group for Dorm Dorks! Check it out, become a member, and use the forums to talk about stuff. I’ll be posting stuff there, and I’ll definitely be posting behind-the-scenes material that you won’t see here! I’ll also be posting special offers, promos, and other deals that you won’t see here – plus, you can add your own pics and videos to the site as well! Sound awesome? It IS awesome!

Its all yours by clicking here. Invite as many people as you’d like, the more the merrier! And, it will always be linked from the righthand sidebar just in case.

Indy Fest

Monday, May 12th, 2008

Indy, not as in, “independent,” but as in, “Indiana Jones!”

I’ll be appearing at Indy Fest this coming Saturday, May 17th, at the Logos Youth CEnter in Grand Prarie. All the details can be found at: http://www.scotomaevents.blogspot.com and/or http://www.myspace.com/scotomaevents.

The show is in large part a celebration of all things Jones, including screenings of movies, whip demonstrations, and passes to pre-screenings of the new Indiana Jones movie. If you’re a fan, you won’t want to miss this one, and even if you’re not a huge fan, you’ll want to come out for all the other comics and geek-culture media guests that’ll be there.

This might be my last appearance for the next few months, so if you haven’t had a chance to come to a show, this might be the one for you!

Sweet Nothings

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

This is the weirdest thing… I’m eating a box of nerds candies… the flavor? “Lemon covered Cherry.”

It tastes like someone took a red sweet tart, and dropped it in a vat of lemon juice for a few hours… Actually,  I think I just described the process of how nerds are made.

In other news, I watched “Serenity” again tonight, for what has to be well over the 12th time… I lost count after 6, and that was shortly after the DVD came out. In any case, I still cried. That movie has never not made me weep like a little baby girl.

Also, I did a bit of musical stockpiling – got the new Muse Live album (pretty good, but nothing you haven’t heard. The dvd is shot wonderfully, and is thrilling to watch), the new Deathcab for Cutie (not very far into it yet, but honestly, it just makes me want to listen to their older albums…) and the new NIN (marginalize them all you want, but Trent Renzor is one of the best and most underrated electronica artists of our time.).

I love talking about music, so debate me if you dare…

Indy-Fest Reminder

Friday, May 16th, 2008

Just in case you missed the last announcement, I’ll be at “Indy Fest” tomorrow, May 17th, in Garland, TX. Come on out for a good time celebrating comics, pop culture, and the Indiana Jones franchise! Details can be found here and here.

I’m really hoping I get a chance to see Prince Caspian this weekend, I have been so in love with the Narnia books since I was just a tiny child, its great to see these films. If anyone sees it before me, don’t you dare tell me about it!
