Dallas Comic Con (Star Wars Style)

Greetings all — it’s that time again — time for conventions! There’s only a few left for this year, and the first one you’ll want to put on your calendar is the Star Wars Fan Days Sci-Fi Expo. It’s October 25th and 26th over in Plano, Texas, which is just a little ways North of Dallas.

Of course, I’ll be appearing, and selling the usual wares, I’ll have Dorm Dorks books,  Sketches, and maybe some new stuff…. hmm… If you’re in the Dallas area, I’d love to meet you, so come by and say Hi — and if you’re a Star Wars fan, this is definitely the show for you. And if all that wasn’t incentive enough, there will be an appearance by Jewel Staite, whom you may know as Kaylee from Firefly.

For more info, just head over to www.scifiexpo.com!

See ya there!

*WARNING* If you do go to this con, please be informed that although Mike said he would really like to meet you, it will actually be almost impossible to meet him as he will never be at his booth. If you should show up and Mike is nowhere to be found, just look for Kaylee and you will no doubt find Mike, following her around and drooling profusely.

If you don’t get a photo with Kaylee and post it, I will be sorely disappointed in you.

  3. Mike

Oh, don’t worry, the question isn’t “if” I’ll get a pic with her, it’s “how many will I get”?

  4. JoePunchface

the other question is “how many will the police let me keep after i get out on bail?”

  5. Chris B.

And…will any of his faithful fans bail him out?

  6. Patrick Rodriguez

*sigh* I’ll get ‘im outta jail…dang nerds always gettin themselves arrested *grumble*

  7. Chris B

Yeah, and at Star Wars conventions no less.

  8. Patrick Rodriguez

that’s even worse. I’m gonna get my ass out of a horde of wannabe jedis. smakin’ me with plastic swords that glow….this is gonna be fun.

is it against the law to kill nerds? hypothetically speaking of course….

  9. Mike

Killing a nerd dressed as a Jedi is seen in most states as “situational manslaughter” (per Smith v. Jinn 1986) and is punishable only by a small fine, mostly out of inconvenience of the clean-up. However, in Illinois, Nebraska, and Texas, nerd killings are seen as a necessary part of advancing human society, and keeping natural selection going. The act is not only legal, but usually accompanied with ritual festivites involving basted turkey and various whiskeys.

    i do like me some turkey…..but i don’t like jail…

  11. Chris B

Oooh….I’ll take some Wild Turkey whiskey, please.

  12. Damon

Just remember not to whip out your your light saber in public and you should be able to avoid jail time. Remember, the police are not afraid to use the force.

  13. Mike

Nice! I love a good bad pun. Well done, sir. Or, as Yoda would say, “You do well!”

  14. Patrick Rodriguez

*goes back to listening to Cherry Popping Daddies…*

  15. Mike

Sweetness… it’s been “Reel Big Fish” and “Five Iron Frenzy” all day for me…

  16. Chris B.

For me, on Friday, it was Bob Marley, Rolling Stones, and Foo Fighters.
