Redesign Maddness Fun Time!

The tired and true red-background had been around for over a year… it’s time for a massive site redisgn, and now you have it! I hope you enjoy it!

So, lets have a quick tour, shall we? The storylines and archive pages are all still intact, just as they were, right above the comic. The new readers page has been all updated with new pictures of everyone, and better descriptions, and links! Also added to those top links above the comic is a ‘contact‘ page where you can send me an email directly, so don’t hesitate to send me your thoughts, feelings, and confessions of sins.

You’ll also notice a quicker way to get to the beginning of each storyline in the drop down menu on the far right sidebar, just under the comic.

The rest of it is mostly the same, mostly. Cool links are along the sides, and the calendar and search features are now on the left sidebar. There’s still the donate button on the far right, if anyone feels inclined to leave a tip, and there’s two “vote buttons” on the lower right hand side, that let you vote for Dorm Dorks on a few top webcomics sites. If you like the strip and want to help me out that way, thats great, but I’m not gonna promote voting all the time, cause that gets annoying.

Anyway, hope you like the site, I had a good time making it. To the future!

Bravissimo, signore Hankins! The site looks great!

    Thanks Chris!

I did just find out that Internet Explorer is not rendering things correctly, I’ll try to fix this as soon as I can. In the meantime, the site looks fine in Firefox. Add this to the list of reasons why I hate Microsoft.

    I like it–a lot!
    But I’ve got $.02:
it’s too wide for my screen–I only get 1280 horizontally; and the notebook paper line (purple one) runs through the text and makes it a little harder to read.

Thanks for the two cents — I might try to fix the purple line issue. I’ve got it to where the whole thing is exactly 1280 wide, so I’m not sure why it would be showing any larger than that. Is anything being cut off?

It isn’t cutting off any content, but it leaves a horizontal scroll bar and will move the “canvas mat” back an forth just a bit. Not sure why it does that (using Firefox 3.0.5)

Cool, thanks for the info. I’m using a mac, so I can’t always test in a windows environment, and I think windows squeezes things in a slight bit, which probably explains the h-scroll. Atleast no content is being cut-off, I’ll see what I can do to shrink it down a bit.
