I Want it to be Good…
So far, summer movies have been real hit or miss, like Star Trek, which is IMMENSLEY aweomse, or Wolverine, which really did nothing for me. I really want Terminator to be good. Ever since I watched the very first Terminator go after the mullet-sporting Sara Connor, I’ve longed to see a movie where we get to actually see John, leading the resistance and being the ultimate badass.
And who better to show us that than Christian Bale? I really want this movie to be awesome, but I have this nagging feeling that it will not be anything close to as cool as it should be, and it doesn’t help that most reviewers are trashing it.
I need to stop thinking about movies before I see them… I’m always disappointed. Except by Trek. I expected greatness and got more than that in spades.
I probably won’t see it till later in the weekend, or I might be forced to wait longer — feel free to post your comments here, just keep it spoiler-free please!

Yeah, I pretty much don’t read any reviews. I want to go into a movie with as little expectations or preconceived ideas as possible. I think it helps to not know much about it. I’m rarely disappointed.
Nice punchline too. And you’re right, it was the only punchline to use.

you are taking perhaps the smarter way, since I so many times will end up disappointed. Although I usually genuinely enjoy reading reviews. I like dissecting movies.
Glad you liked the punchline!

I read the reviews after I see the movie. I like to let the reviewers tell me what an idiotic simpleton I am for liking the movie.

I cannot believe that anyone actually enjoyed the Star Dreck movie. I’m a big fan of the various series but this movie really blew chunks. The acting, except for the guy playing Capt. Pike, was universally awful, the plot made no sense, it was full of action sequences that were seemingly stuck in just because they would look cool, and it was an insult to the memory of Gene Roddenberry and everything he stood for. In short, it wasn’t very good.

I could not possibly disagree more on any of those points… but to each his own I suppose…
