Sketchin’
Thats right, this is the start of a new storyline… which may surprise you, since right now we’re just in some one-off art gags, but we’re going somewhere interesting. This storyline is actually going to end up to be pretty long, we might break it into chapters or something… I’m not sure. I tend to fly by the seat of my pants with these plotlines…
I realized that although we established that Sandy was an art major a long time ago, I’d never showed her really dealing with it, and actually doing anything artistic. And seeing as how my art classes were always ridiculous, I realized the humor potential.
I think this point in today’s strip is pretty accurate. Sketchbooks show a lot of things, but sometimes they can be a window into your emotional state. I remember some days in High School where I just had horrible, terrible days, and filled like 5 pages with harsh, angular lines and angry abstract designs. In this way, sketchbooks are not only an emotional tracking system, but they can be a great therapy device as well.

Ah, so much i want to write on here. It would be awesome if you let me write an article on here one time and see how it goes. You know, about life experiances and some “Stuart-isms”
I like that sandy was doing art. I wondered why you never really got to much into in the earlier ones. Its also very cool that your using your own art class experiances with her. Awesome!
Maybe, just maybe you will someday do some Zombie comics. Nothing that is supposed to be scary, instead be as cheesy as possible. I would enjoy that greatly, as would your fellow followers!!!

Dude, I love this strip, especially the third panel. A comic strip within a comic strip, brilliant!

Thanks Nate! I’m so glad a fellow artist enjoyed this joke.
Stuart, I’m glad you like the strip! About the blog, this isn’t meant to be a group blog, so I’m gonna keep it to a singular voice for now, but about the zombies: I don’t know if I would have enough material for a strip solely devoted to zombies, but I do reference zombie movies every once in a while on here, since I love them so much. Check out the “Twitter Zombie” storyline where twitter causes everyone in the dorm to be a techno-zomibe. You can read it starting here.
