Relationships are Hard

Monday, July 13th, 2009

I actually like Sandy’s quick comeback in the first panel more than the “real” joke of today’s strip. I’m trying to demonstrate something about Chuck and Sandy’s relationship, where even though he totally put his feelings for her out in the open and she flat out rejected him, (it happened here) they are still able to be friends, and even joke about it. I have a few friends like that, and I think it’s kindof a special thing that happens rarely. Usually when you throw out the “I have feelings for you” card, if it’s not mutual, then the preexisting friendship falls apart. But sometimes it doesn’t, and it creates a fun outlet for good jokes between friends.

Of course, saying all that, I’m not sure Chuck is totally “over” Sandy yet, so we’ll have to see how it plays out and if he’s able to completely move on. Of course, Sandy’s little manipulative jab today probably isn’t helping the situation…

Dallas Comic Con

Friday, July 17th, 2009

Greetings everyone! I’m excited to announce that I will be appearing at Dallas Comic Con, August 15-16. This will be a great show, full of awesome artists, actors and other celebritites. If Star Trek is your thing, especially Deep Space Nine, you’ll DEFINITELY want to be there — and would you believe Dean Stockwell will be there? I am a total fanboy for Quantum Leap, so I’m super excited. Legendary Artists Paul Smith (old school X-Men) and J Scott Cambell (Gen 13) and Steve Niles, creator of 30 Days of Night will all be there, in addition to a ton of fantastic artists, and myself!

Whether you’re into comics, movies, TV, or just like looking at the cool costumes everyone wears, you’ll definitely want to be there. For more info, just go here: http://www.scifiexpo.com/DCC/dallascomiccon.html
