So, if you look close, you’ll see my third, and probably final, cameo of my former self (first and second for those that missed it). And for those wondering if these are real lyrics from real songs that I have performed at some unnamed past events… the answer is, unfortunately yes. Don’t ask me what the bunny thing means. I didn’t write the lyrics. But I did write the bass part, which, was pretty genius, I must say.

Do you ever get the urge to listen to weird music unexpectedly, but it becomes this thing in your head that you HAVE to do RIGHT NOW? When I sat down to make this strip, I heard like a little 5 second clip of Van Halen’s “Eruption,” in passing on the background of some podcast or something, and I immediately HAD to listen to all the Van Halen songs I had. I’m kindof embarrassed to admit, that I actually have a lot of their songs in my library… but its for occasions like this, where I just HAVE to hear it, or my brain goes crazy. So, today’s strip is brought to you by Eddie and the gang (Lee Roth and Hagar both, if you must know).

The worst is when the urge to hear a certain song goes off, and I can hear it in my head, but I don’t know what song it is. Then I spend inordinate amounts of time searching through my library for hours until I find it, going more and more crazy with each passing second…

Anyone else have this problem?

Nothing wrong with having Van Halen in the library. They have some great songs and, after all, it’s Eddie Van Halen on guitar.

@Riddik7 — good to know I’m not the only one!

@Chris – Agreed, sir. Eddie is a little bit of a joke to me, in that his solos are so off the wall, in different keys, with no regard for what else is happening in a song… But sometimes thats exactly what I want to hear!

You’re right; he’s got some stuff that doesn’t “work”. But, sometimes his solos are just what the song needed. I think his good outweighs his bad. My problem, generally, with Van Halen is David Lee Roth and Sammie Hagar. Those guys are huge, walking, egos.

    True on all accounts Chris!
