I dare anyone to read Alan Moore's graphic novel "From Hell," and try to argue that it's not a literary masterpiece. Now, not all of them, but some do and should be considered serious literature. Often they deal with fanciful situations that, at the heart, are really just universal human emotion. The good titles are often times like Shakespeare in that regard, only a lot more fun and spread out over maybe 10 - 20 short "episodes." Okay, enough from the soapbox. But...I've definitely have my share of arguments with English teachers that were too uneducated to realize that comic books do have value in the literary world. The same people (usually teachers) that could not see that comic books do have literary value. Now, not all of them, but some do and should be considered serious literature.
