Black Suit Saga: The End…?

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

Well, this storyline is drawing to a close, and that means exciting things are ahead. Of course, there will be some fallout from Chuck’s actions under the influence of the suit. But I promise you that none of them will involve giant sand-creatures that make cheesy moaning sounds for no reason.

If you’re feeling a bit lost, you can start reading from the beginning of the Black Suit Saga by clicking here. And there’s a link to it in the storylines page.

Also, Big Kudos to Grant Morrison this month, for writing what might be the coolest issue of “Batman” that I’ve read in recent memory. Or in memory at all. It’s greatness, check it out if haven’t already, in Batman #673:

It Might Not Eat a Baby…

Monday, February 11th, 2008

Also, I hear they can be bred with that special fur thats non-allergic. So, if you’re allergic to cats, you can still be the proud owner of you own cute, cuddly Serval!

As long as you promise to train it  to not eat babies.

No, wait–as long as you train it to eat only babies…

You Can Never Have Too Many Comics

Wednesday, February 13th, 2008

So, I’m moving this month, which is a good thing, but the process is always a beating. Tonight, though, was quite revealing.

Up to now, all my comics get filed in a very organized system that consists of me tossing them to the side of wherever I happened to be sitting when I read them. So comics are strewn about the whole apartment, which I actually kindof like. Anytime someone sits down anywhere, they have a lot of great comics literally at their fingertips…

In any case, I had to pack them all up for the move, so I went down to my local comic shop and picked up 2 longboxes, which I thought would be more than enough. Then I started filling them up, and boy was I surprised.

By the time all was said and done,  I had 4 long boxes, and 1 half-length box, with another half-length box worth still not boxed.

That’s a ridiculous amount of comics. And still, I yearn for more…

What a Twist!

What’s that there, a new character?

It’s a good thing… this strip could use a kick of estrogen.

Stay tuned, kids!

Eatin’ “Good” in the Neighborhood?

Monday, February 18th, 2008

Food poisioning is something that happens to the best of us. Sometimes, you just have to be up all night puking, because of something you ate. I don’t even necessarily blame the place you ate at, because, seriously, everyone has a bad day every once in a while, and sometimes it just happens.

But–this is a little much. The last 3 times I’ve eaten at AppleBee’s I’ve gotten dreadfully sick.  3 times in a row! This place has it out for me. Last night was the worst. Seriously–I got no sleep last night. None at all. Because between 12:30am, and 6:30 in the morning, I was running to the bathroom and puking every 20 minutes. I’ve never been sick this bad. Even the previous AppleBee’s nightmares were atleast somewhat tolerable… but this just totally wiped me out.

So, I don’t think I’ll be eating there anymore. The good news, is that I might get a week or two worth of strips out of it. If I can summon the energy to work on anything… puking every 20 minutes makes it difficult to get a good work flow going.

Make a “flow” joke there if you want.

Spam… where are those Monty Python guys?

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

I don’t know if any of you saw it, but I got SERIOUSLY spam attacked today with comments. So I’ve changed the setting–if it’s your first time posting a comment, I have to approve it first, so it won’t show up right away.

I just don’t want that to deter anyone from commenting. I want you to comment, I want you to feel like you can express yourself (reasonably) here. I want you to think of this as “your store…” or, uh… “your comic strip…”

I am much like McDonalds in this way–they always have those little cards up saying “we want you to think of this as YOUR McDonalds!”

This is not the only way I am similar to the Golden Arches. I too am kinda greasy, and often contain many chicken nuggets. And, in the spirit of todays strip–lets end the analogies there, before they do serious harm to both me and the franchise.

P.S. – “Hamburgler” is the best character name ever. Ever!

This Means War!

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

Man, I can’t believe it. Scott Kurtz had to go and do a storyline about paintball war… I’ve been writing a big airsoft war story for this summer for the Dorm Dorks gang, and now it’s gonna look like I copied.

I’ll just have to make mine more different, and more better. Although thats a tall order, Scott’s has been genius so far.

This is my way of asking you, the readers, for your airsoft/paintball stories. Regale us with your tales of adventure! Go!
